Shortly after noon on Wednesday, Aug. 12, first responders in  Putnam County were dispatched to a stretch of Route 6, where there were reports of a two-car crash with injuries in Mahopac.

Mahopac Fire Department Public Information Office Jack Casey said that there was one reported injury, and the driver opted to get checked out, transported by a private vehicle.

The crash led to fluids being leaked on the roadway, which were cleaned up by fire crews.

Casey said that “with more vehicles back on the roads, it is requested that drivers slow down when approaching emergency vehicles on or near the roadway. It signifies that there is an emergency scene ahead.”
